French for Communication I
LAFR-40000
French I provides an initiation to conversational French. Accordingly, its main goal is to equip students with simple, yet effective tools for handling simple interactions with French speakers. These tools include essentials of French pronunciation, everyday vocabulary, basic sentence structures and cultural tidbits. Students will learn and practice how to order foods and drinks in cafés/restaurants, introduce themselves (name, nationality, place of residence, profession, family status, etc.), discuss common matters (tastes, hobbies and family), name everyday-life objects and ask for directions.
