Dr. You is an Assistant Director of Toxicology at Ionis Pharmaceuticals in Carlsbad, where she designs the nonclinical safety assessment strategies of drug candidates in cross-functional teams, identifies and mitigates potential toxicity liabilities, and supports regulatory submissions. Previously, she worked as a project toxicologist at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, supporting programs in neuroscience and GI therapeutic areas.Dr. You obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy in 2014 and Doctor of Philosophy in toxicology in 2019, both at Rutgers University, and then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Division of National Toxicology Program at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), where she worked on two Tox21 federal interagency collaborative projects. Dr. You has published multiple papers and given numerous podium and poster presentations on her research at local, national, and international meetings and received several awards for her works. She has mentored and supported multiple undergraduate and graduate students and interns in their research projects and professional development.
Dr. You has been an active member and leader within various professional organizations including the Society of Toxicology. She has also been an active DE&I advocate at her organizations as well as at external professional societies.
