Bio

Asitha Seneviratne, Ph.D., P.E., PMP, PSP, is a professional civil engineer and a distinguished Project Controls (PC) practice leader at SYSTRA USA, bringing over 25 years of expertise in project controls, program management, and critical path scheduling. His extensive experience spans a diverse array of industrial sectors, including California's high-speed rail initiative, highway and transit infrastructure development, and hydrogeological modeling for soil and groundwater remediation.
In his current role as Senior Director of Project Controls at SYSTRA, Asitha leads all project controls activities for the Rail Track & Overhead Catenary Systems joint venture, overseeing 171 miles of the early operating segment. He is responsible for guiding project control teams to meet timely deliverables, establishing comprehensive PC practices, and cultivating strong relationships with clients, joint venture partners, and third-party stakeholders. Asitha is also dedicated to furthering SYSTRA’s project controls capabilities across the United States.
In addition to his professional work, Asitha has been an instructor at the UCSD Division of Extended Studies since 2011, where he teaches planning and scheduling. Through his teaching, he helps professionals expand their knowledge and advance their careers in the field.
