Eileen is a lifelong resident of Southern California. She has a bachelor’s degree in English from California State University, Fullerton, and is a former graduate of the certificate program in Copyediting at UC San Diego Extended Studies. A fascination with medical language and a desire to work in healthcare led her to an over 20-year career, first as a transcriptionist, then editor, for major hospitals in Orange County and as a contractor throughout the U.S. She is also a freelance editor and has worked as a volunteer writing tutor with students of all ages. As a lover of words and a voracious reader her entire life, she enjoys helping others learn about grammar, writing, and editing. She is a member of ACES: The Society for Editing, and she teaches Grammar Lab in the Copyediting Certificate Program.
