Dr. Vijapurkar has a Ph.D in Pharmacology from the University of Iowa. She did her post-doctoral fellowship in cancer biology and has over 10 years of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry where she worked on project teams in discovery research, target identification/validation to early clinical development. She currently teaches physiology and pharmacology courses at UCSD Biological sciences and school of Pharmacy.
She enjoys mentoring and motivating students to develop a genuine interest in the subject matter, become critical thinkers and gain the scientific knowledge that has implications for the advancement of their careers and beyond.
