MOLLY ANN BAUER


Molly has been an Emergency Department nurse since 2010. She started her journey as a Pre-Med major at Fresno Pacific University. After graduating with her Bachelor’s, God called her into nursing. She moved to San Diego shortly after to complete her MSN through the University of San Diego’s (USD) Master’s Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN).

She began her career in the New Grad Program at Scripps Memorial on 6 West, Cardiac/Surgical Unit. About 6 months later, she applied for the New Grad Residency Program at Sharp Memorial for the Emergency Department. After spending one clinical semester in the ER at Sharp, she knew it would one day be her home. Nine years later, she is still loves and appreciates her career. Within her department, Molly operates as a mentor, Trauma Float, Trauma Nurse Team Leader, Radio/MICN, Triage, Pod Leader and Charge nurse. She served as an Advanced Clinician for 2.5 years and is a current Clinical Lead/Supervisor. Molly believes her coworkers are what make her job so special :)

Additionally, Molly teaches in the MEPN program at USD. Since 2014, she has served as a Clinical Instructor of the Family and Community portion of the program. In 2016, she was invited to lead international nursing research/mission trips through USD which led to a tremendous third world nursing experience. She led the first adventure to India in January 2017, and to Vietnam the following year. Molly has travelled to over 20 countries; many which have been for medical or humanitarian missions.

In 2016, Molly began teaching in the RN-BSN program at Point Loma Nazarene, with an emphasis in public health nursing. In the fall of 2019, Molly will head back to school to pursue her Doctorate of Philosophy in Nursing (PhD) at the University of San Diego with hopes of advancing her knowledge and ability to become a better researcher and educator.
