Matt Stamper brings a unique combination of business, technical and governance perspectives to cloud computing. He is currently the research director for risk and security management programs at Gartner, Inc. As both a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP-US) with extensive public-company experience, Stamper brings a broad and well-rounded understanding to cybersecurity practices.

Stamper's diverse domain knowledge spans IT service management (ITSM), cyber security, cloud services operations, compliance and control design and assessment (Sarbanes-Oxley, HIPAA/HITECH), privacy (GDPR), governance, enterprise risk management (ERM), sales management and individual revenue contribution, new product & service development as well as international experience in both Latin America and China. He excels at conveying complex cyber security and IT concepts to CIOs, CISOs, boards of directors, executive management, as well as professional services providers.

Stamper’s executive-level experience with managed services, data centers, security services and IT service management provides a unique and broad perspective on the fast-changing world of enterprise IT, especially cloud services. He is a member of the board of directors for the San Diego Chapter of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA) and co-chair of the Telecommunications Sector for the San Diego InfraGard chapter, a partnership between the FBI and the private sector. Stamper is on the board of advisors for CyberFlow Analytics, the board of advisors of CyberTECH San Diego, an instructor on cloud security and governance for UC San Diego Extension, ITIL Foundation certified, CIPP-US certified and a frequent speaker at IT-focused events. He holds an MPIA degree from the UC San Diego School of Global Policy and Strategy.
