What is the Student Grant Program?
We are committed to enhancing the UC San Diego student experience by providing opportunities to enroll in UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies and Test Preparation courses at little or no cost. In partnership with the University, UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies offers a limited amount of student grant funds to full-time UC San Diego undergraduate students. Each grant is good for up to $500 off of one Extended Studies course and/or one test preparation course and you are responsible for paying anything over the grant amount at the time of enrollment.
How To Apply?
- Fill out application during grant period.
- Select course and/or test prep course.
- Receive confirmation (may take up to 10-12 business days)

Students may apply for both grant options, one Division of Extended Studies course ($500) and one Division of Extended Studies test prep course ($500), every eligible grant period (total $1000 grant). Only one submission per application will be counted, all subsequent entries will not be considered. Typically speaking, the grant period opens 3 weeks prior to the quarter start date.

Grant Options
Undergraduate students can apply for one UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies course and/or one Test Preparation course. Grant funds will not exceed $500 per course and are distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last for eligible full time UCSD students. If the course(s) selected are more than $500, the student is responsible for paying any remaining fees.

- Student grant funds are valued up to $500; and are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
- Submitting your student grant application does not guarantee or confirm enrollment. Incomplete/partial submissions will be dismissed.
- If your course fees are $500.00 or less, you will receive an email confirming your enrollment within 10 business days. If your course fees are over $500.00, we will contact you within 5 business days to collect payment for the additional amount. If we are unable to reach you within 48 hours after our initial contact, your application will be dismissed.
- This grant is not valid for food, beverage, or travel study courses, executive programs, leadership and teamwork specialized certificate.
- You will be held to the UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies Terms & Conditions and Student Conduct Policies.
- This grant is good for the next quarter courses ONLY.
- This grant cannot be combined with any other discounts.
- Academic credit and grade points for this class will appear on a UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies record/GPA and will not appear in your main campus record/GPA. UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies courses may not be transferable to UC San Diego.
- This grant is good for one class only. Any remaining balance cannot be used towards another class.
- You must be a full-time undergraduate student during the quarter in which you will be taking the course to be eligible to receive grant funds.
