Writing Scripts for Theater and Computers

Speaker Professor Deepak Kumar
Coordinator Mark Stadler
In the words of Professor Kumar: “Over my relatively
short life, I have had the great privilege to pursue
two careers; one as a computer scientist here at UC
San Diego and another as a playwright and theater
maker. From the outside looking in, these two paths
might seem diametrically opposed; but to me, they
are two sides of the same coin.” In this talk, he’ll share
the stories he likes to tell on stage, the research
he likes to conduct, and offer his take on how both
practices inform the other.
