Presenter: Dr. Thomas Hemmen leads the UC San
Diego Stroke Center and functions as collaborative
leader bringing together teams from across
the medical center to provide comprehensive,
compassionate and state-of-the art care for all
with stroke and related conditions. Thomas grew
up in Germany, received his medical degree from
the Freie Universität Berlin, completed internship
and residency at NYU and New York Hospital
(Cornell), stroke fellowship at UC San Diego
and Neurological ICU Fellowship at the Philipps
Universität Marburg, Germany.
