Agatha Christie, the Queen of Crime

Speaker Kim Keeline, Ph.D.
Coordinator Mark Stadler

Agatha Christie’s mysteries (Poirot, Miss Marple and more) are still some of the bestselling, most translated mysteries in the world. This lecture will discuss her experiences working as a nurse during World War I that taught her so much about poisons and her husbands. In addition to a survey of her writing, we will examine the influences on her writing from her life, her travels, and her mysterious disappearance that shocked the world. Dame Agatha is the best-selling novelist of all time; her books have sold more than a billion copies in the English language and a billion more in translation.
