Antioch University and UC San Diego Extension Create a New Pathway for Students to Earn MBA

Antioch University and UC San Diego Extension have formed a partnership to enhance the transfer of students who want to earn their Master of Business Administration (MBA). Students who have completed the Sustainable Business Practices Certificate at UC San Diego Extension are able to transfer into the online MBA at Antioch University without duplication of coursework, saving time and money to complete their graduate degree.

"We are excited to announce our partnership with Antioch University, which provides our Sustainable Business Practices Certificate graduates with a significant step toward earning an MBA," said Dr. Laura Fandino, Assistant Dean of Professional and Continuing Education at UC San Diego Extension.

The purpose of the new partnership is to provide a seamless transition for students into Antioch University’s MBA program. The completed Sustainable Business Practices certificate will be transferred as a 10-semester credit block and applied toward the self-designed concentration in the MBA degree.

"We are delighted to work together with UC San Diego Extension," said Terry Ratcliff, Antioch University Provost for Distance and Extended Education. "This partnership will increase the number of sustainably responsible business leaders guiding successful organizations and communities in the 21st century."

UC San Diego Extension’s online Sustainable Business Practices Certificate prepares students to identify and implement sustainable practices at businesses and organizations through coursework in sustainability metrics, innovation, economics and life cycle cost analysis, and strategic planning. Students completing the certificate may transfer into Antioch University's online MBA program.

Antioch University's online MBA prepares students to thrive in a dynamic, diverse, and innovative world where business acumen, leadership ability, and practical application are critically important–and marketable–skills. The MBA offers a variety of concentrations, including Sustainable Business, Leadership and Teams, Healthcare Leadership, Nonprofit Leadership, and Self-Designed and is a 36-semester-credit program which can be completed in under two years. Most students work full time while going to school.

The program articulation agreement will be in place for students beginning September 1, 2020. Students can access information about the program, application, and learn more at antioch.edu/auonline/ucsandiego.
