Futures Scholarships
Scholarship applications and information for Futures programs.
A Little Help Goes a Long Way
Our scholarships are a fantastic way for students to get full access to Futures programs including the internship experience. Currently, we offer a limited number of scholarships on a first-come, first-served basis to individuals interested in pursuing one of our programs. Awardees will be granted no-charge enrollment to one cohort of three courses. This page will always have the most up to date information regarding scholarship availability and application instructions. Currently, scholarships are being awarded based on the below criteria:
- Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
- An approved scholarship will cover the cost of the entire program.
- An approved scholarship does not cover the cost of required textbooks. Please see section details for textbook information.
- You choose your preferred format within the scholarship application.
When available, scholarship applications open four weeks prior to the start of each UC San Diego quarter and remain open for one week.
Applications are reviewed and processed the following week. Students who are awarded a scholarship will receive a notification email from precollege@ucsd.edu, along with a confirmation of enrollment email from our Student Services team. If a student does not receive the confirmation email, they have not been awarded a scholarship.
No Futures scholarships are available for Fall 2025.
For questions about the application process or the status of a submission, please contact precollege@ucsd.edu.
About Futures
The UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies Futures initiative gives high school students the opportunity to explore career and college pathways through programs that offer practical and applied learning in high demand fields. Our courses and programs not only provide students with real-world skills and personal development, but also with opportunities for internships, professional employment, and educational advancement. In addition, parents/guardians have the opportunity to take these courses alongside their students, strengthening the sense of community and pride within the family unit. These programs are specifically designed for high school students and adhere to the same rigor and standard of excellence upheld by the University.
All programs and initiatives coordinated by UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies and its units are designed and implemented in full compliance with Proposition 209 and the University of California Anti-Discrimination Policy. More information about Proposition 209 can be found here. More information about the University of California Anti-Discrimination Policy can be found here.
