Induction Inquiry I
EDUC-31703
Induction Inquiry I provides Candidates with manifold opportunities to work collaboratively with assigned Mentors and instructors in the ongoing development, delivery and assessment of objectives embedded within the Candidate’s Individualized Learning Plan (ILP). Candidates will focus on the ILP goals aligned to the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTPs) to support outcomes to practice and refine teaching practices.

Candidates enroll into the Candidate course section with the same instructor and start and end dates as their Site-based Mentor’s course. special education curriculum. Her research focuses on culturally inclusive positive behavior support in the classroom. She has served a variety of roles in non-public schools, residential treatment centers and foster care facilities throughout Southern California.

Julia Bennett has been working in the field of education for over 15 years as a General Education Teacher, Education Specialist, consultant, cognitive coach and mentor for new teachers. For the past 5 years, she has been integrating principles of neuroscience into the design of teacher induction programs and coaching new teachers on infusing principles of neuroscience and social emotional learning into their daily educational practice. Currently she is researching the effects of infusing positive psychological principles in learning as she teaches language arts at Montgomery STEAM Middle School in San Diego, California.
