Be a STEM Innovator and Co-Designer

 

STEM Design Team Academy Student Fellows partner in an authentic learning lab, engaging in phenomenon-driven STEM while helping educators refine lessons in real time. The week begins with a Learning Studio keynote on real-world environmental challenges. Through immersive Lesson Bursts, students act as co-designers, shaping instruction daily. Guided by credentialed educators, they explore STEM and education careers in a collaborative, impact-driven environment.

Mark E Alcorn
Mark started his career as a classroom teacher in the San Diego Unified School District, where he also served as a mathematics specialist and a mathematics resource teacher. As a curriculum coordinator at the San Diego County Office of Education, Mark led efforts to ensure educational equity in classrooms throughout San Diego. Mark has led sessions at the state and national level, sharing practical strategies to improve teaching and learning. He is a San Diego County Teacher of the Year, National Board Certified Teacher, and co-founder of the Sum of it All Podcast. Mark’s focus is to ensure each and every student’s brilliance is recognized, encouraged, and valued.
