Plein Air Painting: A Working Method

Learn how to capture the landscape in front of you! This six-day workshop will provide you with a step-by-step working method to tackle the challenges of outdoor landscape painting. You will interpret a particular scene and make thoughtful and informed decisions on color, composition, values and edges. This workshop will enhance the skills of the experienced artist and give confidence to the new plein air artist. All levels of experience are welcome. Instruction includes demonstrations, individual instruction, critiques and class discussion. You can choose to work in oil, acrylics, water colors, or gouache.

Prerequisite: None
Note: This class will meet at a different outdoor location every week. Transportation to various locations in northern, eastern, and southern parts of San Diego and a field easel are required. Elective course for Art and the Creative Process professional certificate.
