The Employer Sponsored Induction Individualized Learning Plan (ILP) provides candidates admitted to the Induction program with an overview of the entire program, including its scope, goals, expectations, requirements, standards, and competencies.Through self-assessment, reflection and mentor observation, candidates will develop an Individualized Learning Plan aligned to the California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTPs) that will guide their Induction experience and help them formulate specific goals based on their individual teaching assignments, interests and needs, that will be addressed throughout their participation in the Induction Program.

Notes: The employer only pays for the delivery of the Induction content to Induction candidates they sponsor through the program. Inservice credit is available to be purchased separately by the Induction candidate for the equivalent course credit within the predetermined time frame based upon the end date of the section participated in. Participants must be admitted to the Induction program prior to enrolling in this course. This is the first required course for all Induction Candidates and a prerequisite for all courses in the Induction program.

Harriet Levine, M.Ed., M.A.

M.Ed. in Multicultural Studies and an M.A. in Reading & Literacy. She is completing a Ph.D. program in Special Education.

Harriet A Levine received a M.A. in Reading & Literacy and an M.Ed. in Multicultural Studies. Levine has many years of teaching experience in K-12 schools, and for the past 5 years, has worked in higher education. She has been an elementary classroom teacher in Los Angeles and Goleta, and from 1986–2008 was a reading specialist in The Goleta Union School District. Levine worked with student teachers and interns as a clinical supervisor at Loyola-Marymount University in Los Angeles, and now works as a support provider for clear credential candidates at UCLA. Currently, in addition to teaching for UC San Diego Extended Studies, Harriet has a private practice as a reading specialist.

Deborah Oler, M.S., is an administrator in RUSD. Her experience includes over 24 years in education as a kindergarten and first grade teacher, a Reading Specialist, a Reading Coach, and a Teacher Induction Support Provider. She holds a Clear Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, a Reading Certificate and an Administrative Services Credential.
