SAT Math Bootcamp
EDUC-901.00
The SAT Math Bootcamp is an intensive four-day, 16-hour course designed to help high school students strengthen their mathematical skills, build effective problem-solving strategies, and develop confidence for the Digital SAT Math section. The course focuses on the four major areas of SAT Math: Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving and Data Analysis, and Geometry and Trigonometry.
Throughout the bootcamp, students maintain an error log to identify patterns in their mistakes, including content gaps, careless errors, and timing challenges. Timed practice is incorporated throughout the course to build pacing and test-taking skills. The course concludes with a full timed practice test and a targeted remediation to help students approach the SAT with greater confidence and preparedness.
What you'll learn
- Solve multi-step linear equations, inequalities, systems of equations, and quadratic equations using appropriate algebraic strategies.
- Interpret and apply mathematical representations (including graphs, tables, equations, and real-world models) to identify slope, intercepts, rates of change, solutions, and other relevant quantities.
- Apply SAT-specific problem-solving strategies, including Plug In Answers (PIA), Plug In Numbers (PIN), and strategic use of Desmos, to solve or verify problems and identify an efficient solution method for a given problem.
- Analyze problems involving ratios, rates, percentages, statistics, probability, geometry, and trigonometry and select and apply the appropriate mathematical formula or strategy.
- Evaluate and categorize their own practice-test errors as Content Gap, Careless Error, or Timing, and use their error patterns to develop an individualized SAT Math preparation plan identifying at least three specific areas for continued practice.
