Start-up Essentials for Entrepreneurs

BUSA-40908

Building your own company can be one of the most rewarding experiences, however it is often the riskiest and requires a diverse set of skills. As a start-up entrepreneur you must do it all from market research to product development. For those entrepreneurs fortunate enough to come up with the next block buster idea, very often they feel unprepared to take their company to the next level, especially navigating the complexities of venture capital financing. This nine-week class will create the foundation for students to understand key concepts in building a startup and also how venture financing works. The class will involve a team-based approach to building a new business idea and refining that idea for presenting to investors. Topics covered in this course include: product development, market research, intellectual property, financial terminology, presentation strategies, venture capital and negotiations. As a start-up entrepreneur you must do it all from market research to product development.
