Photo Silkscreen I

Discover the printmaking process that made Andy Warhol a superstar in the art world! In this hands-on class, you will learn how to transform your photographic images into silk screen prints. From prepress procedures including selecting appropriate images to printing 1-color and 2-color images, students will create a number of print editions on paper and textiles. Topics include screen tensioning, ink mixing, squeegee handling and stencil making.
What You Will Learn:
- The history and fundamentals of screen printing.
- How to use screen printing equipment and tools (mesh, inks, squeegee, and stencil materials-special effects material).
- Explanation for creating final art for screen printing including, hand skills in drawing, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop used as tools.

Materials/Software/Hardware: $50 materials fee payable to instructor at 1st class meeting includes 2 t-shirts per student.
