Mastering English Pronunciation & Improving Fluency

Speaking clearly and accurately is a common goal of English language learners. Since this can take many years to master, our course will help to provide you with effective strategies and techniques so that you can continue to refine your pronunciation skills even after the course ends. Through self-analysis and reflection, you will be able to identify your own pronunciation challenges and set goals to improve them. You will also expand upon your current skills in correctly applying English patterns of stress, intonation, linking, and reductions for clear and fluent speech. To help you practice your pronunciation and increase your overall fluency, you will engage in many speaking, small group, and speaking activities.

  Ellen Mann is a native of Detroit, Michigan, who has taught English as a second language around the world.  She graduated with honors from the University of Michigan, earned her TEFL Certification at UC San Diego Extension and her Master of TESOL from Alliant International University, where she was named Outstanding Master of Arts TESOL graduate. Ellen has been an English as a Second Language instructor at the UC San Diego English Language Institute since 2013. Prior to joining UC San Diego Extension, she taught at schools in Chiang Mai, Thailand; Taipei, Taiwan; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and London, England.
