The primary goal of this course is to assist students to express their thoughts and experiences on various topics such as childhood wishes, duties and obligations at home and workplace, news to share, how to use cool gadgets and tools, etc. To achieve this goal, students are encouraged to experiment with their original discourses, while they review grammar such as particles, verb-conjugations, and formal and informal speeches. Students will have plenty of opportunities to practice role-plays and have free conversations with their classmates and instructor.  They are required to give a short, but interesting and informative presentation with visuals and/or acting out at the end of the course using the sentence structures they have learned in class.  Learning from each other with trial and error is an integral part of this course. Reading and writing for a specific purpose with relevant kanji is also included. Lesson 16 to 18 of the textbook will be covered.
