Japanese for Communication VIII

Lesson 17-20 of the textbook will be covered. Students will learn how to report what they heard from someone or other sources. They will be able to express their sense of regrets, apology, and gratitude with reasons. They will also communicate with appropriate honorific and humble expressions based on their status and relation with others. Reading and writing for a specific purpose with relevant kanji is also included.

Instructor: Yoko Wong

Yoko Wong

Yoko Maruyama Wong is a native of Kanazawa, Japan.  She earned her M.A. in Applied Linguistics at Ohio University.  Yoko has over 25 years of experience teaching and tutoring Japanese to all ages both in Japan and in the U.S.  She had taught Japanese at Kent State University, Case Western Reserve University, John Carroll University, Mesa College, and Southwestern College.   In her classroom, she connects content to students’ real-life experiences.

 

Besides teaching Japanese, Yoko enjoys writing Japanese calligraphy, gardening, hiking, and yoga.
