This course will introduce the study and performance of clinical laboratory tests related to the enumeration and
identification of the cellular elements of blood, primarily red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. In addition, it will present the clinical importance of the identification and reporting of blood cell abnormalities to assist physicians with patient hematological disease diagnosis. It will include an introduction to normal and abnormal coagulation or clotting.

Aligned with LFS (Laboratory Field Services) guidelines, the course is designed for those needing a hematology prerequisite for Clinical Laboratory Scientist programs or other pre-health science programs.
