
Get a crash course in the popular coding language JavaScript and then use it to write programs to make a robot interact with the world in specific ways.
This class offers an introduction to robotics, automation, and the challenges of programming in the real world. Students will get a crash course in the popular coding language JavaScript and then use it to write programs to make a robot interact with the world in specific ways. An optional low-cost robotics kit provides hands on experience, while an open source robotics programming IDE / simulator called “DDE” provides software experience.
What You Will Learn
Students in High School: Robotics with JavaScript will:
- Learn about automation and jobs made possible via robots
- Learn the basics of JavaScript
- Learn how to debug JavaScript code
- Learn about the 4 F’s of iterative design (Fail, first, fast, fix)
