Empower your voice: Harness social media for positive political change.
In this online course, students will explore how social media can affect political change, specifically how social media can be used to affect positive change. Through lectures, discussion and real-life examples participants will learn how the internet and social media affects politics and how social media has been used to create social change. Additionally, students will create their own social media campaign to spotlight a political or social issue of their choosing.

Cervantes, Lizeth
Ms. Cervantes received her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley in Political Science with a minor in English. During college, she started tutoring as part of her work-study program. It was then that she realized she enjoyed working with young minds. After college, she worked with Native American Students for over ten years. Currently, she works for a non-profit organization that provides legal education and free legal consultation to the underserved population. In her free time, she is also pursuing a certificate program to become a certified court interpreter.

If a student decides to drop from the course, they can receive a full refund until 5/13/24 and a half refund until 5/31/24. No refunds will be granted starting 6/1/24.
