This hands-on course provides a comprehensive introduction to Swift Programming, the powerful and intuitive coding language for all of Apple’s operating systems, including macOS, iOS, watch OS and tvOS. High school students will learn how to use Swift Programming to write applications for Apple platforms. Topics include functions, structures, enumerations, classes and closures. High school students will also learn how Swift can be used to create simple apps. After completing this course, high school students will have the skills needed to take Futures: iOS Programming I.
This course is part of the iOS Programming for High Schoolers program.
Note: This course is only open to high school students. Participants must complete this course series in order, earning a passing grade in each course before enrolling in the next one.

Wallace Wang has written dozens of programming books related to iOS/macOS programming using the Swift programming language, including "Beginning iPhone Development with Swift 5," "Pro iPhone Development with Swift 5," "macOS Programming for Absolute Beginners" and "Beginning ARKit for iPhone and iPad" (all published by APress). In addition, he has taught numerous Swift programming courses to high school students through UC San Diego Extension over the past three years.
