Futures: Elements of Marketing

This course will focus on integrated marketing communications and explore the building blocks of effective marketing programs and campaigns. High school students will learn how to incorporate effective marketing tools into their careers and the strategies of their organizations by learning best practices from case studies. We will also discuss marketing career options. High school students will gain experience in a variety of industry sectors and will develop the basics of a marketing plan for a company of their choice.

This course is part of the Business Management for High Schoolers program.

Instructor: Jerome Roberson

Jerome Roberson
Dr. Jerome Roberson is the Facilities Director for Howard University School of Law and West Campus.  His role as the Facilities Director is a high-profile, demanding, and challenging position. Dr. Roberson relies heavily on the knowledge acquired through education and practice to guide the Howard University Law School facilities department. He enjoys landscaping, genealogy, and popular and classical music. His favorite composer is Samuel Coleridge-Taylor. He loves baseball and enjoys reading science articles about the formation of the Universe. Dr. Roberson is a veteran of the United States Air Force. His time in the Air Force was very productive. He was awarded Distinguished Graduate at the Non-Commissioned Officer preparatory school. Dr. Roberson earned an Associate of Applied Science in Maintenance Production Management. Similarly, he completed his B.S. in Human Resources Management from The New School and a Master of Science in Management from Binghamton University. Dr. Roberson recently completed his Ph.D. in Organization Management with a leadership Specialization. He has published two articles which are listed below.

Bio: Bobby Gordon’s award-winning career spans over 20 years in higher education as an instructor, advisor, marketing and branding specialist, consultant, and alcohol/other drug counselor and educator. Bobby has partnered with communities, federal agencies, professional sports teams, professional organizations and associations, and local and state law enforcement to develop, create, advise, and assess a variety education programs. His work spans organizations like Major League Baseball (MLB); BACCHUS Network; Association of Fraternity/Sorority Advisors; U.S. Department of Justice; U.S. Department of Education, United States Navy; Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA); National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA); National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA); National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH); National Institutes of Health (NIH); Arizona Diamondbacks; Indian Health Services (IHS); Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC).
