All K-12 Dual Language educators and administrators need to be aware of how a Dual Language program works, how each language is developed, and why they are beneficial to student learning and growth. The 50/50 and 90/10 model will be researched and discussed throughout this course. Topics for this course include how the 50/50 Dual Language model works, what specific language teachers focus on and reinforce, how to structure your time teaching two sets of students, and collaborating with a partner teacher daily. Additional topics for this course include how the 90/10 Dual Language model works, what specific language teachers focus on and reinforce, how to structure your time, planning & preparation for two languages in one class, and collaboration with your grade level team.

Note: This is the second required course in the Dual Language Immersion program. The first required course is The Pillars of Dual Language Immersion. The third required course is Educational Leadership in Dual Language Immersion. The last required course is Assessment & Accountability in Dual Language Immersion. The courses may not be taken out of order.
