Admissions

Admission to the specialized certificate in Community Health Work is by application only. Applications are reviewed by UC San Diego School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science. Questions regarding the application or application process should be directed to J.W. Wiebe-Anderson: jwiebeanderson@ucsd.edu.

This program is open to aspiring Community Health Workers and experienced Community Health Workers. Applicants from refugee and Native American communities preferred. This enrollment application should take about 10-15 minutes to complete.

Partners

This program is an academic-community collaborative led by The Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science at UC San Diego with support from Somali Family Service of San Diego and UC San Diego Division of Extended Studies. Additional community partners are involved in the development and implementation of the community health worker training initiative.


 

Apprenticeship

Certificate graduates will have the option of joining an apprenticeship program to practice on-the-job acquired skills. More information to be provided soon.
