The aim and focus of this course is to provide instruction and practice that English language learners will need in order to produce clear and correct business documents. By studying examples of well-written letters, students will build their knowledge of business writing in the United States. Letters, reports, resumes, and job application letters are some examples of the document types that will be reviewed. Students will also learn more advanced elements of grammar and style such as sentence variety, word choice, and conciseness. Appropriate business style in writing will be a focus. This class is valuable to those who are non-native English speakers and desire to improve their business writing and professional communication skills.

IMPORTANT: Students must have an advanced-level English language level to take this course. Students will be required to take an English language proficiency exam before the course begins.
