Bio
Aaron Slusher is an exercise physiologist with over a decade of experience investigating the impact of physical and mental stress on the mechanisms associated with immune cell aging (telomere maintenance mechanisms) and cardiometabolic health. Since graduating with his Ph.D. from Virginia Commonwealth University, he completed a molecular and cellular biology postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Michigan and applied his physiology training as an associate research scientist at the Yale School of Medicine examining insulin-mediated intracellular signaling pathways in adipose tissue.
Throughout his career, Dr. Slusher has fostered meaningful collaborations across the United States and internationally and gained extensive knowledge into the successful design and implementation of numerous human, rodent, and in vitro cellular studies. His research has resulted in nearly 40 peer-reviewed scientific publications and book chapters, over 30 conference presentations, and the development of effective lifestyle interventions and identification of molecular targets that help to increase the healthspan of an aging population.
