Bio
Liangping Ma is with Qualcomm, where he works on 3GPP standards, including non-terrestrial networks (NTN) and multimedia systems. He was with InterDigital from 2009 to 2019, where he worked on cellular standards and video transmission over various communication networks. Up to 2009, he was with San Diego Research Center Inc., and Argon ST (acquired by Boeing), where he led the development of a modem for wireless sensor networks. He was an IEEE Communications Society Distinguished Lecturer from 2017 to 2020. He is the inventor/co-inventor of more than 300 granted/pending patents with USPTO and 800+ worldwide, and the author/co-author of more than 50 journal and conference papers. He received a B.S. degree in physics from Wuhan University, China, in 1998 and a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Delaware, DE, in 2004.
