Christina Lewis PhD

Bio

Christina Lewis is a physiologist and an anatomist with more than 20 years of experience teaching in the University setting. She earned a PhD in Physiology from Colorado State University, did graduate research at National Jewish Health respiratory hospital in Denver, CO and postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco in the Lung Biology Center.

Her research has utilized both human studies and animal models to investigate asthma pathogenesis including the role of genetics and genomics in airway disease. Dr. Lewis is passionate about science and the human body and loves sharing her enthusiasm and knowledge with students. She has taught to a variety of academic cohorts, including professional programs (medical, dental, podiatric medicine), allied health (nurse anesthesia, occupational therapy, physical therapy, physician assistant), and undergraduates.

Her teaching expertise includes anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and genetics/ genomics/ cell biology. Her strengths as an educator include her passion, knowledge and curiosity of the human body, the desire to teach, interests in creative delivery of course content, and her commitment to innovative and inclusive approaches in education and course design.
