Thomas Kearney

Bio

From careers in advertising and software quality assurance, to caregiving for his aging parents, and, most recently, in education, as staff for the Sally Ride Science Summer Junior Academy, and Instructor Aide for the Program Your Future and Library NExT programs, Thomas has enjoyed a variety of experiences. He feels that while being a specialist provides expertise in one area, having a broader exposure to several varied topics widens your perspective and helps make you a better problem-solver. 

Thomas has been married for 39 years to an educator who is currently a case manager and teacher in special education. Education has always held an important place in their home. He has 4 adult children, all of whom are college graduates. They are his pride and joy. Thomas also has a dog (Maggie) and a cat (Smokey) whose antics never cease to amuse him. In his spare time, Thomas enjoys a lifelong passion for landscape photography.

Thomas is delighted to be back with the Sally Ride Science Academy again this year!
