Lauren Ibarra

Bio

Lauren Ibarra is a recent graduate of the UC San Diego with a BS in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. She has a strong passion for using human-centered design to alleviate systemic problems. She is the founder and creator of the RE:dsgn program, establishing it as a project under the UC San Diego Design For America studio in 2018.  Her identity as a first-generation, Mexican-American college student has fueled her passion for education equity to make innovative teaching techniques more accessible to students from all demographics. She hopes to continue these values into her career as an aspiring physician and public health researcher.
