Bio
Kim Gonzalez Lawgali is the TEFL Certificate Program Coordinator and instructor at UC San Diego's English Language Institute. She is also adjunct professor of TESOL at Alliant International University in the MA TESOL program. From 1989 to 2005, she taught and was coordinator of the TESOL Certificate program in the Education Department at UC San Diego Extension before creating the TEFL Certificate program through the English Language Institute at UC San Diego where she was teacher of the year in 1995 and 1999. Before joining UC San Diego, she taught at the American Language Institute at San Diego State University for ten years and taught adult education at the Mid City Adult Center for thirteen years. Her first English teaching job was in Tunisia. She has been teaching English for over 30 years with specialties in teacher training, advanced levels of grammar, writing and reading. She is a member of the TESOL organization and serves as coordinator for ELI's TEFL certificate program. She has presented at conferences both locally and nationally for CATESOL, TESOL, and NAFSA.
