Bio

A seasoned industry professional and design mentor

Dom Cooper is a UK-born, California-based Creative Director with over twenty years of experience in branding, publishing, and cultural design. His work explores the intersection of narrative and expression, combining analog and digital techniques to create refined, emotionally resonant work for clients including Penguin Random House, Warner Music, and the global audio brand Marantz.

Notable projects include book designs of individual plays for the Royal Shakespeare Company, James Bond covers for the Ian Fleming Society, a visual history of Patek Philippe, and the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Collection. His work for Marantz encompasses the 70th Anniversary campaign, a promotional collaboration with Vinyl Me Please, and marketing for the launch of the MODEL 40n amplifier.

He currently serves as a fractional Creative Director for the music nonprofits Other Minds in San Francisco and Project [Blank] in San Diego.

Dom holds a BA in Graphic Design from West Herts College and has taught, mentored, and supported students through portfolio reviews, workshops, and initiatives such as Talk to a Creative Director. He has also judged Adobe’s Creative Jam competitions and contributed to AIGA’s Designer Launch series.

His music design work is archived in the British Library and his projects have been featured in Wallpaper, Design Milk, Tor, Forbes, and Sound & Vision.

His integrated practice combines art, music, and creative exploration, all of which inform his design.

Outside of work, Dom co-leads a community choir and hosts a monthly radio show on San Diego’s Particle FM.
