Bio

Jonathon Clemens has over two decades of experience as a hands-on scientist and engineer. He holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California, San Diego (2010), with a focus on physical chemistry and the surface analysis of semiconductors. His professional experience includes contributions to the fields of semiconductors, medical devices, and fundamental research in chemistry. Dr. Clemens believes that groundbreaking work rarely comes from a single researcher working in isolation; rather, it emerges from multidisciplinary teams driven by effective leadership, integrity, and hard work. He places great importance on the value of understanding a system's physical, chemical, and electronic properties. Dr. Clemens’ academic contributions include a dozen publications, most recently in Nature Communications (2015). His most recent professional title was Senior Staff Medical Device Engineer at Dexcom.
