Rena Calanca
Bio
Rena Calanca considers herself an unabashed language geek and is a stickler for all things grammar and mechanics in both English (A) and Spanish (B). Rena holds a B.A. in Hispanic Literature, an M.A. in Intercultural Education TESOL, and a Master of Pastoral Studies. She has extensive Spanish- and English-teaching experience at the high school and college levels and has seen numerous of her students go on to work for international companies, travel the globe, and even become teachers themselves, using their knowledge of language to serve others.Rena embraces diversity and loves encouraging others to maximize their talents and skills, especially in the area of language. Rena is bilingual and multicultural, having spent her life studying, raising a family, and working between Libertyville, Illinois, and Puebla, Puebla, Mexico.
Rena currently resides in Atlixco, Puebla, Mexico. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, traveling with family and friends, ongoing faith formation and service, and staying active on a journey of wellness.
