Samantha Burrhus
Bio
Samantha Burrhus has been teaching high school math for 12 years, with experience teaching courses ranging from Algebra through Advanced Placement (AP) mathematics. She is passionate about creating engaging and accessible learning experiences that help students develop not only mathematical understanding, but confidence.She earned her undergraduate degree in Statistics and her Master of Education from the University of California, Davis. Throughout her teaching career, she has developed curriculum and taught mathematics across a range of levels and learning environments, including remote and hybrid programs. She joined UC San Diego Extended Studies as an instructor in 2026, where she brings her experience in mathematics education and curriculum development to the Division of Extended Studies.
