Annette Andranian
Bio
Born and raised in Berlin, Germany, Annette Andranian earned her Master’s degree in Teaching and English from Freie Universität Berlin. For more than twenty years, she has shared her passion for language learning with students of all ages, teaching German at the elementary, high school, and university levels. Since 2017, she has been teaching German at UC San Diego Extended Studies.
As a native German speaker and lifelong language enthusiast, Annette loves helping students discover not only the German language but also the culture, history, and perspectives that bring it to life. She especially enjoys working with beginning learners, guiding them as they build a strong foundation and supporting them as they grow in confidence and proficiency through more advanced coursework.
Known for her enthusiastic and engaging teaching style, she strives to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and asking questions. Sharing her language and culture with others is one of Annette’s greatest joys, and she is committed to making the experience of learning German both meaningful and enjoyable.
