Timothy Michael Palmer
MA Applied Linguistics, BA Linguistics

Timothy Palmer, MA Applied Linguistics, has been teaching English and academic skills for over a decade. He provides instruction for UCSD Extension’s English Language Institute and for the English as a Second Language (ESL) Program. He also teaches Grammar Lab for the Copyediting Certificate and is the English Language and Writing Tutor for the Humanities Department at Revelle College. From teaching in a variety of settings, he has learned the importance of listening to students and evaluating their individual needs in order to provide the most relevant and practical instruction possible. He is passionate about core language knowledge areas such as grammar, vocabulary, writing, spoken fluency, and presentation skills. Above all, Tim strives to empower non-native speakers by helping them to identify and learn the critical language features they need to be successful in their academic, professional, and daily lives.
