Oscar Rios did his undergraduate work at UC San Diego in mechanical engineering after working at Glenair. After completing his B.S., he stayed at UC San Diego for graduate school and is now a Ph.D. candidate in the mechanical engineering department. Rios is finishing his dissertation titled "Dynamic Modeling and Analyses of Gyroscopic Systems and Flexible Robots" which includes dynamic modeling and small scale experiments on an ocean wave energy converter, a ship stabilizer and flexible/soft robots. He is also currently, combining work on previous projects and developing an autonomous aquatic robot.
