Lisa Shadburn


Dr. Lisa Shadburn believes that when you take the time to play with a child, you are never "just playing," you are connecting, teaching, modeling, sharing, learning and enjoying each other. Dr. Shadburn delights in using the power of play in her work as a child therapist, public speaker and author. She is Clinical Director of FrontPoint Child & Family Therapy Center, where she leads a team of psychologists and Marriage and Family Therapists who help children, teens, adults and families deal with trauma and stress, overcome obstacles and reach their goals.

She is a respected public speaker who has presented on topics such as play therapy, child development, parenting, behavior management, social skills, empathy development, bullying, sibling rivalry, stress reduction, coping skills, anger management, self-esteem, gratitude, enhancing skills in students with disabilities, parent-child communication, divorce, emotional intelligence, positive reinforcement, program development, special education, and school-based mental health. She has written a number of articles on child and teen-related topics with the goal of providing helpful resources to parents, teachers and the psychology community. 

Dr. Shadburn has also spent several years in the past decade as a graduate school adjunct professor, teaching at the California School of Professional Psychology, Los Angeles (CSPP-LA)/Alliant International University and Phillips Graduate Institute.
