Carolyn R Brock
J.D.


Carolyn R. Brock graduated from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in December of 1994 where she was on the National Deans List from 1991 - 1993, and a member of the San Diego Justice Journal law review writing staff from 1992 - 1993. Ms. Brock is admitted to practice before the courts of California, the United States District Court for the Southern District of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ms. Brock was certified as a legal specialist in estate planning, trust and probate law by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization on June 1, 2004. 

Ms. Brock is the author of various articles including: “Nonfiduciary Liability Under ERISA”, San Diego Justice Journal Vol. 1, No. 1, Summer 1993; “Drafting Qualified Domestic Relations Orders”, Dicta, San Diego County Bar Association, Lawyers Magazine, September, 1996; “Another QDRO Pitfall: Early Retirement Incentive Programs - Separate or Community Property?”, Dicta, San Diego County Bar Association, Lawyers Magazine, June 1997. Most recently Ms. Brock was published in Business Succession Planning: Strategies for California Estate Planners and Business Attorneys (Cal CEB 2010), Chapter 20, “Integrating Succession Plan with Estate Plan” as a co-author with Kevin S. Veenstra, Esq.

Ms. Brock has lectured on estate planning and probate for professional and public groups. In particular, National Business Institute for Continuing Legal Education for Professionals between 2007 and 2009, lectured on probate basics; advanced probate issues; estate planning basics, drafting wills & trusts; and asset protection in every day planning. Ms. Brock teaches a spring course for paralegals through UC San Diego Extension on estate planning and administration.
