Confidentiality for SUD Counselors

Understand the vital role confidentiality plays in building trust and ensuring ethical care in SUD treatment. This course covers key federal and state regulations—including 42 CFR Part 2, HIPAA, and related laws—guiding the protection of patient information. Through case studies and real-world examples, learners explore informed consent, exceptions to confidentiality, and best practices for safeguarding client privacy while navigating complex ethical and legal situations.
