Futures: Working Drawings Through AutoCAD for High Schoolers

High school students will take their understanding of AutoCAD to the next level as they learn to create a set of working drawings. Practice the skills that allow architects and engineers to use this popular design and drafting software on real-word projects. This class will allow high school students to develop an advanced understanding of AutoCAD applications. Topics will include advanced commands and drafting conventions. High school students will use your new skills to develop an abbreviated set of construction documents. High school students will also learn important manipulation and management tools for integrating drawings within the document set.

David Sellers received his Professional Bachelor of Architecture degree from Penn State University and is the Curriculum Manager at Virtual Design and Construction Institute. At VDCI, David works extensively with Autodesk software, and has 10+ years working with AutoCAD. In addition to teaching with UCSD, David is also regularly teaching at VDCI and Makerplace, a local maker space in San Deigo. David is an Autodesk Certified Instructor and is actively working with NCARB to receive his Architectural License in California.
