Receive hands-on, practical experience in integrated marketing communications and explore the building blocks of effective marketing programs. This course will also showcase how to incorporate the tools you learn into your career and organization by learning best practices from current case stories while networking with classmates representing a variety of professional disciplines. Marketing career options will also be discussed. Gain experience in a variety of industry sectors, and have the opportunity to develop the primary elements of a marketing plan for the company of your choice.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the role marketing plays in any organization

Management Consultant

Kelly is a senior executive coach, facilitator and trainer in strategic marketing and leadership. She has over 20 years of teaching, marketing executive, and management consulting experience, with an inclusive teaching style that has led to key learning outcomes for students and leaders.

Kelly started her career in sales and marketing at IBM and then moved to business development at Monsanto. At both organizations, Kelly created strategic partnerships with customer and channel partners and consistently contributed to the bottom line. Kelly has also leveraged the management insights and thought leadership developed at Harvard Business Publishing (HBP) to roll out online leadership training programs for first time managers.

Kelly is active in the San Diego start up community as a mentor and consultant by working with emerging companies to devise partnerships and go to market strategies. At the CONNECT accelerator, Kelly launched a quarterly Lean Startup orientation program for entrepreneurs looking to get seed funding. Her training helped founders better understand how to pivot and market minimally viable products.
