Counseling From a Learning Culture Perspective

EDUC-42640

This course is designed for counselors, educators, and student support professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of counseling approaches based on student-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally grounded theories. It will analyze the cognitive, behavioral, humanistic, and existential behaviors we achieve as we grow in life, and it will demonstrate how learning is linked to the awareness of the self and the dynamics of healthy relationships. In this course, participants will enhance their emotional, social, educational, and professional life skills through a practical study of the principles and application of strategies that assist in the development of coping and life skills. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the personal and emotional experiences of students, especially those navigating culture shock, trauma, anxiety, self-doubt, and resistance to change. The course also centers the counselor’s role in facilitating growth and healing through vulnerability, validation, self-awareness, and community building. Participants will be invited to reflect on their own learning journeys and examine how personal growth and self-care directly affect their ability to support others.
