Craft beer production in the United States has expanded from just eight breweries in 1980 to over 8,000 today. Learning how to drive awareness and engage consumers in your brewing business is a vital skill in today’s growing craft beer industry. This class is designed for individuals interested in developing a brewery, currently own or work at a brewery or have interest in working in the brewing industry.  Explore the building blocks of effective branding and marketing programs and receive hands-on, practical advice about brand development, marketing communications and promotion. Course topics include research, positioning, branding, product development, advertising, pricing, distribution, social media, public relations, and marketing plan development.

Note: Due to the impact of COVID-19, all in-class courses will be delivered remotely in alignment with the following statement by the Chancellor at UC San Diego.  This class will be delivered by live Zoom meetings at the scheduled class meeting times.  Please expect additional communication from your instructor and/or program manager closer to the course start date.
